My Approach

I strive to create a safe, welcoming and nonjudgmental environment that enables individuals and families to feel comfortable throughout the therapy process. Therefore, when I first start working with a family, I focus on building rapport and learning about their goals. I work collaboratively with clients to teach them strategies and skills to overcome symptoms of distress and optimize their functioning. I utilize multiple theoretical approaches and modalities, such as behavioral and cognitive-behavioral therapy, behavioral modification, family systems theory and motivational interviewing. I also focus on client strengths to build confidence and empower individuals to make positive changes.
